Last updated: April 23, 2026

Our Commitment to Privacy

This Privacy Policy describes how BetterSchool LLC (also referred to as "we," "BetterSchool," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, transfers, stores, retains, or otherwise processes your information when you (whether on your own behalf or on behalf of another) use BetterSchool's website (betterschool.com) (the "Website") or services (collectively "Services").

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected in connection with your access to and use of our Website and Services. By continuing to use our Website or Services, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein. For any privacy-related questions, please use our contact page.

Consent

When using our Website or Services, or otherwise interacting with BetterSchool, you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, processing, disclosure, and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

User Types

This Website caters to two different types of users who may be subject to different terms in accordance with this Agreement:

Parents/Guardians/Group Organizers: Parents, guardians, teachers, and other adults purchasing on behalf of children use the platform to browse and purchase tickets to educational events for their children. All purchasers on behalf of children must have the permission of the parent or guardian of the child to do so. Children under 18 are not permitted to use the platform directly.

Event Hosts: Event Hosts use the platform to post family-friendly educational events. Event Hosts may be either individuals or businesses. Events posted to the Website must provide clear details about the event, such as a picture, event title, learning objectives, event description, location, date, time, target student age range, ticket types, prices, and quantity.

Marketing Emails

Marketing emails from us will always have instructions on how to "opt-out." If we have sent you a promotional email you may "opt-out" or you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.

If you have purchased tickets to an event the Event Host may email you directly with pertinent information relating to that event. Event Hosts are required to keep all email correspondences with event attendees relevant to the event and are not permitted to use the email features to promote other events or for business purposes unrelated to the event at hand. If an Event Host is violating this policy please inform us immediately.

While attempts to mask your email will be made there is no guarantee that the Event Host will not be able to see your email. Only Event Hosts of events that you have purchased tickets to will be able to email you directly.

If you are an Event Host your personal or business email (whichever is provided when you submit the event) will be visible to confirmed attendees of your events.

Information Required for Event Hosts Using Stripe

As an event host using BetterSchool to post and manage events you are required to create your own account with Stripe to handle payments for event ticket sales. Stripe, a third-party payment processor, handles all vendor accounts and payment processing for our Event Hosts. Please note that BetterSchool does not store any of the information required to set up a Stripe account on our servers.

Stripe may require the following information among other things to set up a vendor account: Full Legal Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Phone Number, Business Name, Business Address, Business Phone Number, Business Website, Industry, Business Structure, Tax Identification Number (EIN or SSN), and Bank Account Details (account number and routing number) to process payments.

To become a verified vendor with Stripe (which is optional but enables faster payout for your ticket sales) you may be required to provide among other things a form of identity verification (e.g. passport, driver's license), proof of address, and any other information required by Stripe. Stripe may request additional information based on the specific business structure or risk assessment of a given Event Host. Again, this information is collected through and handled by Stripe, not BetterSchool.

For more details on how Stripe handles Event Host information please refer to Stripe's Services Agreement and Privacy Policy (links above).

Stripe Protections. All payments made through our Website are processed and distributed through Stripe. All payment processing data entered in connection with such payment processing is stored behind a firewall on Stripe databases and subject to their data storage practices. To the best of our knowledge Stripe encrypts all credit card data in accordance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and with respect to users who are Parents/Guardians/Group Organizers only stores such information for as long as it is necessary to complete your purchase transaction before deleting it.

Cookies and Other Similar Technologies

BetterSchool uses a limited set of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working. These are mainly used for sign-in, security, fraud prevention, checkout, and remembering basic preferences.

A "cookie" is a small text file stored by your browser. Some cookies last only for a browsing session and others remain for a longer period so we can remember a setting or recognize an authenticated session.

We currently rely on cookies and similar technologies for a few narrow purposes:

  • Essential service cookies: to keep you signed in, secure sessions, and support checkout.
  • Preference cookies: to remember lightweight interface settings such as sidebar state.
  • Feature-specific third-party technologies: when you actively use maps, location autocomplete, or payment flows, our providers may load their own scripts or use their own technologies to deliver those features.

We do not use advertising pixels or sitewide behavioral tracking on our public pages. If that changes, we will update this policy and any related controls before rolling out the new behavior.

These technologies help us to:

  • Remember your information so you do not have to re-enter it.
  • Tailor our Services to your preferences.
  • Protect accounts, payments, and the integrity of the service.
  • Support feature-specific experiences such as maps and checkout when you choose to use them.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the service may not work properly if essential cookies are disabled.

Your Privacy Choices

We keep the public site lean on purpose. BetterSchool does not run advertising cookies or cross-context behavioral advertising on the public site.

If you use map or location autocomplete features, Google may load resources needed to show maps, places, and directions. If you enter a checkout flow, Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to process payments and help prevent fraud.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of any future sale or sharing covered by applicable law. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a privacy right, please use our contact page.

Third Party Analytics

We use privacy-friendly website analytics to understand high-level traffic patterns and site performance. Our current website analytics provider is Vercel Web Analytics.

We use this information in aggregate to understand which pages are useful, where the site is slow, and how people move through the product at a broad level. We do not use these analytics to build advertising audiences on the public site.

Vercel Web Analytics reports traffic and performance in aggregate and is designed to avoid cookie-based tracking on the public site.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We generally keep your information as long as reasonably necessary to provide you the Services or to comply with applicable law. However, even after you stop using our Services, we can retain copies of information about you and any transactions or Services in which you may have participated for a period of time that is consistent with applicable law, applicable statute of limitations, or as we believe is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, to detect or prevent fraud, to collect fees owed, to resolve disputes, to address problems with our Services, to assist with investigations, to enforce our Terms of Use or other applicable agreements or policies, or to take any other actions consistent with applicable law.
